About the event

This  event will be held at the exclusive and luxurious BKS Speakeasy found within in the Muir Hotel on Halifax's Waterfront with large patio overlooking Halifax Harbour. At this event we welcome William Wouters (Global President of the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale, decorated sommelier, and former chef for the Belgium National Football (soccer) team) along with his wife Filipa Pato (2021 Portuguese Winemaker of the Year), winemaker at Pato & Wouters, a boutique winery based in Bairrada, Portugal. Pato produces wines from local grapes such as Baga and Bical. Pato, known as the 'Queen of Baga', is considered one of Portugal's finest winemakers. All their wines are made using biodynamically grown grapes,  and natural winemaking. In this casual event, you'll get to enjoy 6 samples of wine from Portugal, including a sparkling Bairrada to start and a selection of Filipa and William's wines. Also included are 4 skewers (your choice of beef, lamb, shrimp, or vegetarian),and the opportunity to chat with William and Filipa about their wines.
